A Simple Gesture
Did you know that 1 in 4 children in the High Country do not get enough to eat on a regular basis? Sadly, Watauga county has been designated the 3rd poorest county in our state. Many families have to choose between meals, medicine, and putting gas in the car.
Imagine if only 10% of our neighbors bought ONE extra non-perishable food item every time they shopped at the supermarket, we would add an estimate 400,000 lbs of food per year to our food pantries serving the High Country!
A Simple Gesture is a door-to door food collection program that helps to provide a steady supply of food to the neediest people in our community.
